Main Description

At Hilton Worldwide I worked on a large variety of print projects for the B2B side of the company. The two projects highlighted here are the Poland Book and the Dive for Dollars campaign. 

The Poland book highlighted Hilton Worldwide their growing presence in Poland and throughout Central and Eastern Europe. I was responsible for laying out all images, graphics, and maps and getting them print-ready. 

The Dive into Dollars campaign was a project that highlighted the unlimited budget loyalty program that also allows travel agents to earn points for qualified Global Distribution Systems. I received the creative brief and crafted the campaign around a family jumping into saving as a result of the Dive into Dollars campaign. I wanted the viewer to have the same enthusiasm as the family pictured in the image.

The business problem

Why it was a problem, to begin with.

The Hotel book was a tool used by the Development team in Central & Eastern Europe to showcase Hiltons presence in different regions. The book was used to showcase the different types of Hilton properties in a region along with the look and feel of each property. Without the book, the Development team would have to rely on PowerPoint or one of the sheets to showcase properties to prospective clients. The book provided a tactile sophisticated approach to showcasing properties; it also had maps to show in which regions Hilton had a presence and did not. 

The Dive into Dollars campaign encouraged travel agents to enroll in the Unlimited Budget loyalty program. Without the campaign, travel agents would not have known they could earn points towards their vacations. Points were being awarded to participating travel agents based on completed car rentals and paid hotel stays and were accumulated on the Unlimited Budget stored value MasterCard® card.

Reflections on the experience

Did your product meet its goals?

In retrospect, I think the book is great but. I could change something. I would like to have had the same photographer shoot all the images. If the same photographer had shot all the images. I know all the exterior and interior shots would feel more unified. For example, the photos of Hilton Garden Inn Krakow and Hampton by Hilton Swinoujscie seem out of place. 

The campaign was successful when it had imagery. When the imagery is removed liked on the banner ad’s it feels generic without the image. I would have liked to carry over something that made it feel relate.
